It is important to point out that the United States needs immigrants. Despite that English in the U.S. is the official language, the first European language spoken in its territory was Spanish and later other languages were assimilated. I agree that this country does not have to accept everybody. It has the right to filter the people living in it because not all immigrants are the same.

U.S. companies’ need multilingual professionals and this is one of the most important contributions that foreign

        professionals could bring.
Besides they offer in-demand acquired skills and their culture. A good example is the rich diversity that the three main

immigrant groups; Indians, Chinese, and Mexicans have brought to this country.

Due to strict enforcing immigration rules that cause immigrants to be deported, especially Mexicans and Central-Americans,            many industries are struggling to find personnel. Many industries will benefit if immigrants would receive their documents.

Many farmers are offering high salaries and benefits, not offered before, in order not to close their businesses
Despite the U.S. economic depression suffered recently, there is a vacuum in the job field
Many Americans have not filled these vacant positions despite the benefits and salaries offered and the need of a job they have

It is true that there are many immigrants with a non-regular status but trying to deport all of them will be costly and not practical. Many Americans have criticized an immigration reform that conduces to a “path to citizenship” believing that immigrants would receive it right away, which is not true. The law establishes that visitors have to come with a visa, then after certain amount of time become residents, and after five years they could request the citizenship.

The last rejected immigration reform was giving immigrants the path to a citizenship after ten years. It would be at least a

fifteen-year process that many immigrants, who have lived in this country for years, probably will not be alive to receive

        the benefit

Some Americans criticize the immigrants requesting the right for a citizenship and others criticize that some immigrants

some do no want to be citizens and be residents only. It is like being between a rock and a hard place.

In order to work in the field, the workers do not need a Ph.D. whereas they need a “green thumb” that everybody knows they have. Most of them have worked in the agricultural, livestock, and landscaping areas for generations. The peasants in their countries have been labored toughly because they have to put up with the elements, no proper tools, appalling salaries, and they have been excluded from the modernization.

In the U.S. many of them have been abused not receiving their deserved salary, and they have labored in non-working

conditions. Even pregnant women who have worked in the field unprotected and without water suffered miscarriages.

We recognize them for their face tanned by the wind and the sun. They are not asking for anything back, only

the opportunity to work to support their families and get a better living

It is unjust to have a person living for many years paying taxes and not having the right of becoming an American citizen

Almost anybody realizes that they are supporting the struggling Social Security Administration. If they become

documented most likely the Social Security Administration would struggle even more. Having them working for many

years, favoring others, without any right is unfair.

AN EXAMPLE IS THE BILL SB-1159 THAT IN CALIFORNIA WAS APPROVED.

AFTER COMPLYING WITH CERTAIN REQUIREMENTS TO PROVE THEIR PROFESSIONAL STATUS IN THEIR COUNTRIES,

EDUCATED IMMIGRANTS COULD PASS  AND EXAMEN TO APPLY FOR A CERTIFICATION.  IF AMERICAN COMPANIES

DO NOT  WANT TO HIRE THEM, THEY COULD WORK INDEPENDENTLY OR CREATE THEIR OWN COMPANY.
