CONSEQUENCES FOR EDUCATED IMMIGRANTS AND ALSO TO THE U.S.
In the U.S., different barriers cost the professionals and highly-skilled immigrants not to be inserted in the American workforce. A vast number of them are underemployed or unemployed causing financial struggles to them and to their families. It is also affecting the U.S. revenues.
A research conducted in 2016 by: IMPRINT, World Education Services (WES), New American Economy (NAE), and Migration Policy Institute (MPI) offers an interesting perspective of this problem. For the first time in the U.S. there is an initiative to approach this situation measuring the financial consequences and offering appropriate solutions to this issue.
They offer solutions to educated immigrants case by case to alleviate the problem and bring hope to those who have been deceived. Many of them have to begin their careers all over again or simply they gave up and started working in non-qualified jobs.
